WPDriven undertook the task of designing a website for a local non-profit organization. The objective was to create a platform that effectively communicates the organization’s mission, values, and initiatives while facilitating engagement and support from the community. The project timeline was set at two months.

    The Product

The product is a website tailored specifically for the local non-profit organization. It serves as a digital hub where visitors can learn about the organization’s causes, events, and volunteer opportunities. Additionally, the website provides functionalities for online donations and membership registrations.

    The Problem

The core problem faced by the non-profit organization was the lack of an online presence and a centralized platform to effectively reach and engage with the community. Without a website, the organization struggled to communicate its activities and garner support from potential donors and volunteers.

    The Goal

The goal of this project is to design a user-friendly website that amplifies the impact of the non-profit organization by effectively communicating its mission and fostering community involvement. By doing so, we aim to increase awareness, participation, and support for the organization’s initiatives.

    My Role

As a UX Designer at WPDriven, my role in this project involved understanding the organization’s goals and target audience, designing intuitive user interfaces, and ensuring a seamless user experience on the website.

    Responsibility

My responsibilities included conducting user research, creating wireframes and prototypes, and collaborating with the development team to implement design solutions that meet the organization’s needs and effectively engage its stakeholders.

    Understanding the User

    User Research

To understand the needs and preferences of the organization’s stakeholders, we conducted surveys, interviews, and focus groups. This allowed us to gather insights into the community’s interests, concerns, and motivations for supporting the non-profit organization.

    Summary

Our research revealed that the community values transparency, authenticity, and impact when deciding to support a non-profit organization. They seek a platform that provides clear information about the organization’s mission, goals, and achievements while offering opportunities for meaningful engagement and contribution.

    Pain Point

The primary pain point for the organization was the difficulty in effectively communicating its mission and activities to the community, resulting in limited awareness and support for its initiatives. Without a digital presence, the organization missed out on opportunities to connect with potential donors, volunteers, and partners.

    The Impact and Lessons Learned

Developing a user-friendly website for the local non-profit organization helped increase awareness, engagement, and support for its initiatives within the community. Through this project, we learned the importance of leveraging digital platforms to effectively communicate mission-driven initiatives and mobilize community involvement for social change.

    Platform Used: WordPress with Elementor

This website for the local non-profit organization was built using a combination of tools, primarily WordPress as the content management system (CMS) and Elementor as the page builder. WordPress provided a flexible and scalable foundation for creating and managing the website’s content, while Elementor enabled easy customization and design flexibility without the need for coding skills. Additionally, we integrated donation and chat plugins to enhance the functionality of the website. The donation plugin allows visitors to make contributions directly through the website, facilitating easy and secure transactions to support the organization’s initiatives. The chat plugin enables real-time communication, allowing visitors to connect with the organization’s team for inquiries, support, or volunteering opportunities. By leveraging these tools, we ensured that the website not only effectively communicates the organization’s mission and activities but also provides interactive features to engage with the community and drive meaningful action.
